One April 15th, we as a youth group will fast, go all day without food, to remind ourselves that the problem of hunger... is OUR problem! They are not alone! We want to feel the pain that they feel... so that we won't let their cries go unheard.

Yes... it's back, OUTBREAK 3 OPPOSITION, the zombie survival game! Bust out your nerf guns, pool noodles and finger rockets! It's going to be a blast!

We have a brand new scenerio which will place survivors not only trying to survive a zombie horde, but pitched against another team of raiders, trying to steal supplies...

Last time we had over 70 people attend... our goal.... 100! Bring all of your friends.. tell everyone! Last time, we brought much needed socks and clothing for the homeless of Hanford, this time all money made from the event will go to purchase prepaid food cards to be distributed to those living in poverty here in Lemoore.

Come have fun and make a difference for Jesus here in our community!

According the last census taken... more than 1200 people here in Lemoore live UNDER the poverty line....

This is not okay...

Now imagine how much this has grown since this year... all the job losses... and economy....

I had an idea... let's do something... so...

For the next two months, we will be taking an offering to buy food cards at Fresh and Easy. Then we are going to pray and randomly mail them to some of the hardest hit areas of our community, with note... Your loved - Lemoore Nazarene Church...

Think we can do it... I know we can!

For three years now each year we hold one of our proudest events, Ninja Night. It's is going to be such a blast...

Everyone attending will attend "Hidden Door Village" Ninja Training. Join with your friends and create a ninja squad, compete against other teams as you learn throwing stars, eating with chopsticks, decoding real ninja messages, sushi eating, stealth, sword fighting, and so much more!

After words Dusty will be giving a Ninja Spirit Message.

Outbreak 2 was a huge success, thanks to all those who attended, we had over 70 in all! It was a great time! If anyone has any pictures, please feel free to share.

Plans are already in place for Outbreak 3! Be looking out for it sometime in early April!

"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had...There was no needy persons among them. for from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need." Acts 4:32-35 (NIV)

So…. What do we learn from this scripture?

Being a follower of Jesus’ way, is all about helping each other out. Did you catch that? “No one was in need”… “They were all one”….

Well… I have a brother in need… a friend, mentor and ol’ pastor of mine name Eric and he is in need. He made the decision a year ago to sell everything he and his family had and headed to Tanzania, to serve in East Africa. He is doing amazing things there. He is changing East Africa with the message of Jesus. He is training pastors, bringing education to children, and offering clean drinking water to those in need…

So now he is need…

He needs…. an acoustic guitar.

Such a simple thing that is very difficult to obtain there.

We need to help.

Do you have an acoustic guitar, just sitting in your closet, being surrounded by more and more of your stuff… not being used… just taking up space? The people of East Africa need it, that guitar, in your closet can change lives.

We are also looking for donations. Have a piggy bank? Have some loose change? We will buy one if we need to!

Let’s help our brother in need. Let’s bring music to the people of East Africa. Let’s change the world, one life at a time!

We are so proud of all of the students who attend the Refuge, in two months, our young people raised enough money to bring clean drinking water to 53 people for 20 years!

Our students gave money, collected from there classrooms, and even walked around campus collecting donations! So proud of all of you! Thank you for answering the cries of the world!

Jesus tells this story. Before leaving this wealthy man gives three guys some money (called talents). Remember given. Two of the guys used the money, they invested it, and for it they got more back. The third guy buried it.... dork. So the wealthy man returns, he's so excited that the first two not only used the talents, but gained more. The third guy, explains that he buried the money. The wealthy man gets frustrated... because the guy wasted his gift...

We all have gifts. We paint. We sing. We act. We cook. We read. We share. We create. We share. We laugh. We dance. We teach.

February 18th is all about using our talents... not burying them. We are going to hold them high, a full night, a talent show for our creator!

At the Refuge, we love games, we love having fun. So far, nothing has come close to beating "Outbreak" the zombie game. A full scale, nerf gun, finger rocket, pool noodle zombie survival game. Three other church youth groups will be joining us for the biggest Outbreak game of all time. Don't miss it!

I remember trying to learn how to do a backwards handspring. I tried is on my own... twice... I got hurt... my WAY didn't work. So I looked for tutorials on youtube, no help I found like 20 different WAY's of doing it. Which would work best? Well, the WAY that worked.

How about life? What WAY do we follow, how do we discover self, how do we treat others, how do we define love? What WAY do we follow?

In the beginning of the world we experienced God's way, the way of peace, compassion, connection with God and the earth (his creation).

Later, a snake introduced a new WAY. The WAY of independence, selfishness, greed, and lust.

For the next few weeks we will be studying the WAY of this snake, the devil compared to the WAY of Jesus.
